The CAT Story

Catalina Drive-In was born in an Austin backyard on Catalina Drive during the fall of 2020. Suffering from cabin fever and looking for a safe way to connect with friends during COVID, we started with a single speaker, a shower curtain, and an old projector.
What began as a simple movie night quickly grew into a neighborhood favorite, with double features on weekends! Inspired by the joy we created, we took our show on the road, bringing the magic of outdoor cinema to backyards and apartment communities across Austin.

From those humble beginnings in 2020 to the fall of 2024, we've hosted more than 250 events, and we're so grateful to bring to your backyard the fun that started in ours.
We're not a 'regular' movie theater.
So movie theater rules don't apply.
Talk to your friends during the movie,
quote along and laugh loudly.
It is a PARTY!
Just follow The Golden Rule: don't let your fun ruin someone else's fun.
